This large 45 year old white oak grew in front of the Yale College Dean’s House at 202 Prospect Street. It was across the street from Sage Hall and in direct view of the iconic Sage Boy who is continuously decked out in fine costume by the Forestry and Environmental Studies students. For a short period the logs from this tree served as lunch tables in the Kroon Hall courtyard. The tree was removed in April 2011 as part of the Prospect Street renovation in preparation for the construction of the two new colleges.
