Yale Campus Wood Sources

All wood for bowls and pens is reclaimed from felled trees that were growing on the Yale campus. No trees were cut for this project. Instead the trees had to be removed by the Yale Grounds crew for various reasons ranging from campus renovation to overgrowth and disease. We collected the logs before they were removed to a landfill or cut into firewood. Because only a few trees are removed from campus each year, the amount of wood available for production of these bowls and pens is extremely limited.
