Grove Street Elm #17
This bowl was handcrafted from a massive elm tree that grew at the corner of Grove and Temple Streets, in front of Dow Hall and Warner House, and across the street from Silliman and Timothy Dwight Colleges. The tree was completely uprooted and fell onto Grove Street during Hurricane Sandy in September 2012, blocking access to the street entirely. This is bowl #17 of the 28 that will be turned from this tree. This bowl measures 8” in diameter by 5” tall.
• Also includes a card describing the history of the tree’s location on campus.
