School of Medicine Elm #27
This natural-edged bowl was hand-turned from a large elm tree that grew along College Street in the courtyard between the Sterling Hall of Medicine and the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Public Health. This massive 80+ year old tree was the oldest and largest tree on the Medical School campus. It showed signs of disease and age and had to be removed in the summer of 2021. This bowl is 9.5” in diameter and 7” inches high. This is bowl #27 of the 96 bowls to be crafted from this tree.
