York Street Sweet Gum

This 35 year old Sweet Gum grew on York Street between Jonathon Edwards College and Branford College and across the street from the University Theater and the Rose Alumni House.  The tree died and was cut down by the city of New Haven.  The wood has remarkable color variation from the creamy white typical of maple to a color that approaches purple.
